The Parallels of Life and Chess | Eugene Brown | TEDxHickory

Eugene’s story of how he was transformed from a “Pawn” into a “King” and how you can do the same by understanding the real chess game of life. Position isn’t won by the fittest it’s won by the wisest! Anywhere you find yourself on or off of the chess board, our thinking got us there. The mantra and philosophy of the Big Chair Chess Club is “Always Think B 4 U Move!” This is a powerful concept and it applicable to life and chess.

While spending 18 years in federal prison for making the poor choice as a 20 year old to engage in the felonious act of robbing a bank, Eugune gained clarity while having a paradigm shift on life. In doing so, he turned his life around to help at-risk youth avoid the pitfalls all common in urban environments. In 2002 Eugene Brown started the Big Chair Chess Club, a non-for profit organization which helped get a group of teenagers off the streets using the game of chess. Eugene Brown’s insight on the urban subculture and the impact it has on lives of youth is unique and profound. Eugene Brown is offering to share his experiences, insights, and potential solutions to addressing the behaviors of youth as they relate to the urban subculture, and the limited choices that many of them face.

health No Comments »

Mistake at 2:14. It’s 10 to the power 26 nanoseconds.

Chess requires intelligence and thought process, so how can a computer possibly do it?

A computer that is playing chess is not “thinking.” Instead, it is calculating through a set of formulas that makes it to take good moves.

5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel – Yes, Seriously

health No Comments »

5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel – yes that is the actual name of the game. We’re skipping past 3D chess and 4D chess for the ultimate big brained game. Move your pieces back in time to create a diverging parallel timeline, then move your pieces into that. What could possibly go wrong?

5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel is generalized from ordinary chess. There are two spatial dimensions, a third unused spatial dimension, a fourth dimension representing time, and a fifth dimension representing parallel timelines. When pieces travel to the past, paradoxes are avoided by using a branching timeline system. Capture a king to win!

Donald Trump supporters taut his ability to see moves ahead of his political adversaries. Even after some of his more baffling policy decisions or tweets, they claim Trump is playing 3D Chess, making moves massively more complicated and clever than normal people can comprehend. Most people have never sat down to play a game of 3D chess, and probably only know of the game from a brief scene in a 1976 episode of Star Trek, where Kirk and Spock play it on futuristic glass board on the enterprise.

In order to fully unpack the metaphor, VICE News spoke with 3D Chess experts to find out what the game actually is, and if Trump would be any good at it.
